The Women in Science (WiSci) 2015 STEAM Camp: A Story of Success for Public-Private Partnerships

Hosted By: Meridian International Center

Meridian International Center looks forward to hosting this virtual panel series as part of Global Partnerships Week and in celebration of International Women's Day.

In Summer 2015, The U.S. Department of State, Girl Up of the UN Foundation, Intel, Microsoft, and the AOL Charitable Foundation partnered with Meridian International Center to run a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) Camp for high school girls at the Gashora Girls Academy in Rwanda. Campers traveled from the United States and around Africa to participate in classes designed by Microsoft, Intel, and the AOL Charitable Foundation, engaging these girls in STEAM subjects. Join us online to hear more about this exciting public-private partnership, best practices in working with multiple partners, and strategies for engaging youth in the classroom. Our last panel of the series will feature a selection of campers to share their experiences in Rwanda and how the 2015 WISci Camp has impacted them in the last seven months.

This will be a three panel series, including:
